Experimental Research on Mercury Catalytic Oxidation over Ce Modified SCR Catalyst

In order to improve the ability of SCR catalyst catalyze oxidation gaseous elemental mercury, a series novel Ce modified (Selection Catalytic Reduction, V2O5–WO3/TiO2) catalysts were prepared via two-step ultrasonic impregnation method. The performance Ce/SCR on Hg0 and NO reduction as well catalytic mechanism was also studied. XRD, BET measurements XPS used characterize catalysts. results showed that pore volume size reduced by doping, specific surface area decreased with increase content in catalyst. promoted introduction CeO2.Ce1/SCR (1%Ce, wt.%) exhibited best activity 21.2% higher than at 350°C, which conversion efficiency 200–400°C. Furthermore, Ce1/SCR better H2O resistance but slightly weaker SO2 chemisorbed oxygen weak absorbed increased addition CeO2. possed redox compared HCl most effective gas responsible for oxidation, cycle (V4+ + Ce4+ ↔ V5+ Ce3+) played an important role promoting oxidation.
